Ethics & Scope of Practice
Develop a clearer, more grounded approach to ethics, boundaries and scope of practice in breathwork and the wider wellness space.
Why Take An Ethics Course?
Working ethically in breathwork is about more than following a code of conduct. It involves understanding the limits of your role, recognising power dynamics, communicating clearly, making thoughtful decisions, and being willing to reflect on how your work affects the people you support.
This 10-hour course is being developed for breathworkers and other wellness professionals who want to strengthen the ethical foundations of their practice and approach their work with greater clarity and integrity.
What We’ll Explore
The course will explore a range of topics that are relevant to breathwork including:
scope of practice and the boundaries of your professional role
power, responsibility and professional relationships
consent, boundaries and ethical decision-making
communicating and marketing your work responsibly
navigating situations where there may not be one simple “right” answer
The emphasis will be on practical application, reflection and developing the confidence to make considered ethical decisions in real-world practice.
10 Hours of Ethics Training
The course will include approximately 10 hours of ethics education.
This is designed to exceed the 8 hours of ethics training required by the Global Professional Breathwork Alliance (GPBA) for both the Ethically Compliant Breathworker and Certified Professional Breathwork Practitioner pathways.
*Please note: GPBA certification has additional training, experience and professional requirements, so completion of this course alone does not confer GPBA certification.
Who Is This Course For?
This course is intended for breathwork facilitators, coaches and practitioners, as well as other professionals working in wellbeing, somatic and related spaces who want to deepen their understanding of ethical practice.
It may be particularly useful if you are working towards GPBA recognition, reviewing the foundations of an existing practice, or beginning to work with clients in a more professional capacity.
