About This Workshop

What changes when we stop trying to make the moment different — and begin by meeting it?

In this two-hour Sunday Session, Lani brings together breathwork and Huna-inspired enquiry to explore a deceptively simple idea: Before change, make contact.

We begin with IKE — “The world is what you think it is” — one of the seven Huna principles articulated by Serge Kahili King.

Rather than asking you to accept this as a belief, the invitation is to explore it through your own experience.

What am I actually experiencing?

What am I perceiving?

What might I be adding through expectation, memory or interpretation?

And what becomes possible when I begin to notice the difference?

From there, the breath becomes the practice.

Through guided breathing, stillness and simple Huna-inspired enquiries, you’ll be invited to meet your experience as it is — without immediately needing to explain it, fix it or make it different.

The session may move between quieter breathing practices, Conscious Connected Breathwork, guided reflection and periods of silence, with time afterwards to notice and integrate what has emerged.

There is no particular insight you need to reach and no prescribed meaning to uncover.

You remain in charge of your own breath throughout. You can deepen, soften, pause or return to natural breathing at any point.

What You’ll Experience

  • an accessible introduction to Huna and the principle of IKE;

  • simple practices for arriving more fully in contact with yourself, your surroundings and the group;

  • exploration of the relationship between experience, perception and interpretation;

  • quieter breathing practices, with the opportunity to move into Conscious Connected Breathwork;

  • Huna-inspired enquiry that leaves room for your own experience and understanding;

  • periods of silence where there is nothing you need to achieve;

  • time at the end to reflect on and integrate what you have experienced.

This is an invitation to become curious about what is already here — and to discover what the breath might reveal when we meet the present moment before trying to change it.

No previous breathwork experience is needed. You’ll be supported to listen to your body, move at your own pace, and engage with the practice in a way that feels respectful and resourced.

Meet Your Guide – Bryan (Lani)

Lani is a Breathing Space-trained breathwork facilitator and Hawaiian Huna practitioner, holding a wide range of qualifications in various supporting somatic practices and the founder of Harmony Aligns (HĀ).

His work brings together breathwork, Huna and evidence-informed approaches to stress regulation, presence and self-leadership.

Rather than using breathwork to prescribe meaning or tell people what they should experience, Lani’s approach places presence, relationship, agency and choice at the centre of the practice.

Huna provides a complementary philosophical thread: an invitation to become more conscious of attention, perception, relationship and the choices available within the present moment.
His guiding principle is simple: Before change, make contact.

From there, the invitation is to breathe, notice and discover for yourself.
Presence in relationship — one breath at a time.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

hat is Conscious Connected Breathwork (CCB)?

Conscious Connected Breathwork is a breathing practice where the inhale and exhale flow together without pauses. It can support emotional release, nervous system regulation, insight, and a deeper sense of connection to yourself. The breath becomes a guide — helping you listen inward and meet what’s present with care rather than force.

You can learn more about Conscious Connected Breathwork on our website.

Do I need any prior experience?

No experience is needed. This session is open to beginners and those who’ve practiced breathwork before. Clear guidance will be offered throughout, and you’ll be encouraged to engage with the practice in a way that feels right for you.

What do I need for the session?

  • Comfortable clothing you can breathe and move easily in

  • A yoga mat, mattress, or soft surface to lie on

  • A blanket or layers for warmth

  • Water nearby

  • A notebook if you’d like to capture reflections afterwards

A quiet, uninterrupted space is helpful, but not essential — please work with what’s available to you.

Is breathwork safe for everyone?

Breathwork is a powerful practice, and while many people find it supportive, it may not be suitable for everyone.

Online Conscious Connected Breathwork is not recommended if you have certain medical or psychological conditions, including (but not limited to):

  • Epilepsy

  • Severe asthma or respiratory conditions

  • Uncontrolled high blood pressure

  • Certain heart conditions

  • A history of severe trauma or significant and active mental health challenges

If you’re unsure, we encourage you to reach out to us in advance or speak with your healthcare provider. Please ensure you read and complete the waiver before attending.

What will happen during the session?

The session will include:

  • A gentle arrival and grounding

  • Preparation of the body and breath

  • A guided Conscious Connected Breathwork journey

  • Time to rest, integrate, and land

  • Optional space for reflection or sharing

Everything is invitational. You’re welcome to engage in the way that feels most supportive for you.

Will I be expected to share or speak?

No. Sharing is always optional. Some people find it helpful to speak about their experience; others prefer quiet integration. Both are equally welcome.

What might I experience during breathwork?

Each breathwork experience is unique. You might feel relaxation, emotional movement, insight, or a sense of clarity. Some people notice physical sensations such as tingling, warmth, or light-headedness.

Whatever arises is approached with care and choice. There’s no “right” experience to have.

Can I attend if I’m pregnant?

Conscious Connected Breathwork is generally not recommended during pregnancy. If you’re pregnant and interested in breathwork, please get in touch, we’re happy to suggest gentler practices that are more suitable.

What if I need to pause or stop during the session?

You are always in control of your experience. You can slow the breath, return to natural breathing, or stop altogether at any time.

This is a trauma-sensitive space where listening to your body and honouring your needs is encouraged and respected.
